Abstract

Headaches are a huge public health problem especially for women, because they happen a lot and are strongly linked to sleep and mental health problems. Chinese women in Hong Kong had elevated levels of anxiety, depression, and insomnia, all of which can exacerbate migraines. This study employs an exploratory methodology to examine the link between headaches and insomnia among Chinese women from Hong Kong, mediated by anxiety and depression. The researcher employed a quantitative methodology, obtaining 646 valid replies from a total of 686 respondents, who completed structured questionnaires through a stratified random sampling method. The researcher employed SPSS version 25 to glimpse at the data using descriptive statistics. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) and odds ratio estimates with 95% confidence intervals. There was a substantial relationship between anxiety and headache (F = 1,134.789, p < 0.001) and between sleeplessness and headache prevalence (F = 947.321, p < 0.001). These data indicate that insomnia presently provokes headaches and functions with anxiety and discomfort to make the symptoms worse in a vicious cycle. Studies like this one reveal that women in Hong Kong, those in their 40s and 50s to experience the worst headaches. It emphasizes how crucial it is to contain medicines for both sleep and mental health troubles at the same time. This work declares a critical gap in the current literature and will assist in identifying optimal diagnostic and restorative procedures for the distinctive health obstacles faced by Chinese women in Hong Kong to formulate effective preventive strategies.
