Abstract

This research paper analyzes the regulatory and legal dimensions of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in India. In recent years, India has witnessed a significant surge in M&A activity, attributed to globalization, liberalization, and dynamic economic reforms. This study evaluates the regulatory framework governing1 M&As, including the role of the Companies Act, SEBI regulations, and the Competition Commission of India (CCI). It critically examines procedural hurdles, legal ambiguities, and the challenges of cross-border transactions. The paper also explores landmark cases and provides recommendations to strengthen the existing legal infrastructure.
