Abstract

Academics and support workers at universities report higher levels of pleasure and productivity when they report high levels of job satisfaction (JS). Staff morale plummets, disloyalty increases, staff turnover rates rise, and university unions go on strike when JS is absent, which has a chilling effect on organisational and personal productivity. An increase in job satisfaction has a multiplicative effect on academic quality, which in turn increases staff retention, productivity, and service quality. Academic staff job satisfaction was the focus of this study, which aimed to catalogue the factors that make academic staff members happy on the job and rank them in order of priority. Based on an exhaustive evaluation of scholarly literature, peer reviews, and document analysis, this research integrates expert opinions and practical skills in the field of advanced career development. Using these methods, we were able to identify the factors that contribute most to academic work satisfaction. By combining ideas and insights from established academic literature with empirical data, we hoped to construct all-encompassing theories and frameworks for determining critical success variables and expanding our understanding of job satisfaction in settings outside of universities. As a result, the organization’s results would improve. Therefore, in an effort to provide recommendations based on knowledge, this paper is going to be requesting that universities create equitable working conditions for all faculty members, irrespective of their racial or cadre background, and put management practices in place that make university employees happy with their job. This research lays out a number of critical criteria that determine the levels of work satisfaction among university workers. In addition, we are preparing the way for more research.
